Syed Raza leads the AI Practice at 2nd Order Solutions (2OS), where he partners with leading banks to design, govern, and deploy AI solutions at scale. He works closely with executive leadership, risk, and model governance teams to move initiatives from pilot to production.

Raza has advised several top-10 U.S. banks and global financial institutions across the full AI spectrum, from traditional credit risk modeling (GBMs, explainability, underwriting strategy, and model risk management) to modern LLM-powered applications, agentic AI architectures, and hyper-personalized customer experiences. He is particularly focused on helping institutions balance innovation with regulatory discipline, unlocking growth while maintaining strong risk foundations.

He holds a PhD in Theoretical Physics from the University of Virginia, where his research focused on quantum computing and reinforcement learning. Raza contributes to open-source AI initiatives and writes about AI, quantum computing, machine learning, and credit risk. He enjoys cooking, exploring new cuisines, and playing competitive cricket.
